[general blog]

Blimey, it's been a while!

Well, summer has been and gone since we last blogged. That's because we've been very busy bee's! We've been working hard, writing new songs, learning new languages, meeting new people and creating a new business, so we can eventually ditch (excuse the pun) the day job and concerntrate more on what we love to do most - making music.
I'm trying to get back into running, swimming and cycling and any other activities I can find time to do in between everything else. That way I can improve my fitness, giving me the energy and endurance I need to perform on stage and the lung capacity to help me sing how I want.

We have great news from the US where we the colleges are loving it, getting into loads of top 30's including a number 2 at a big core station and a few CMJ chart ads. All in the run up to our US release of Bedroom Superstars {Extended Player] on Spetmeber 23rd.

Finally, we may just be going out live to do the old stuff one last time, but I'll kepp you posted!

Bye for now!

Dawny

Long time no speak!

Hello all. Sorry- its been a while I know. We've basically had our heads down writing and getting a lot of things together as we get ready to move on from Bedroom Superstars and take this thing further.

So, what are we up to? Why no gigs? Whats happening?

Well, to start, June is going to be a release free month as we take a break (we will be doing 3 releases in 1 month later in the year so there will still be 12 releases as promoised!) and continue writing. July will see the release of a new improved Bedroom Superstar Single followed in August by the Bedroom Superstars [Extended Player]. This contains some choice cuts from the debut album plus some new stuff! It will be available as a download from everywhere and as a proper genuine CD online from Amazon, CD Baby etc etc.

Then we will have another special single release in October, 2 Albums and a DVD - one remix and one live- in November and a possible a Christmas single in December.

Then the new year and our new, brand new, very new album will be nearly ready for you. Its much darker, its much louder. A few tracks you will already know, the rest you wont and, for those who have not yet seen us live, it will introduce you to the genius that is Harvey, our drummer. We really are moving up a gear on this one and are so far very proud of what we are coming up with- we hope you like it too but you'll have to wait until early '09 to hear it - sorry.

As for gigs. We are being picky, mainly because we have sooooo much to do recording wise. We will do a few choice shows around and about- now as a live 4 piece- and who knows, maybe we'll debut some of the new stuff!

We've also been hitting the radio and the decks, with radio shows, DJ sets and even some TV appearances on the horizon. The next is our attempt at being Radio DJ's on radio2XS' Attic Session, where we play you some of our favorites and most influential tracks- from Sly Stone to White Zombie, early Madonna to Nine Inch Nails, Herbie Hancock to Iron Maiden- it's all there as eclectic and nuts as always. I'll let you know when we are to be broadcast.

Watch out for a site update in the coming weeks and keep an eye out for some coll competitions we are doing, one currently for everything we release all year and then another one for a special ltd edition "I'm a Bedroom Superstar" T Shirt. many more will follow- we like to give things away ;-)

Anyway, must get on with it all. Keep in touch and don't fear our comments/Forum- it wont bite I promise!

[DawnyVic's Week]

W/C 07/04/08

It’s been a few weeks since my last blog, which is down to being rather busy and suffering a bout of cold. We did a gig and were on a DIY question and answer panel for Doncaster Music Week which was good. It was quite interesting doing it from a different perspective. Usually I’m in the audience with everyone else. I think it was well lead by Roo and I felt like I’d learnt one or too things from it, so I hope the people who were there got something out of it.

We then went to Windsor for a break over Easter, which was just what I needed. It was bloody cold though! Since then we’ve been getting together stuff for upcoming releases and lots of weight training. Yesterday we went to support our friends from ’Soho Dolls’ and ‘Suzerain’, who were supporting ‘IAMX’. We had a great night out! Unfortunately we couldn’t go to the after show party because I was really suffering with my cold and dreading how I was going to feel at work the next morning. Fortunately wasn’t feeling too bad the next morning and it was a Friday, so nearly the weekend Hurray! I’m getting a bit sick of living for the weekend now though, I never like going to work but I feel like I’m trudging through treacle at the moment and I can’t wait ‘til we’re making some real money from our music and can give up the day job!

[Ditch's Week]

W/C 04/04
 Ditch-Scarlet BLONDE

Okay so it's be far too long between blogs. I admit it. But March was quite a chaotic one so take this as a 'monthly' blog rather than a 'weekly' one, with normalish service to bur resumed as soon as I know what is normal anyway!

Okay, so, at the beginning of the month we did the Radio 2XS barn sessions. A fantastic affair, recording 30 mins or so of music in a Barn for a show which will be broadcast in the near future. After this, us and Jeff of the fore mentioned radio went to the pub and the rest as they say, is history.

This performance was actually filmed by the superb 'Silvertip' who should be helping us with a few other projects in the future. Watch out for the very very soon to hit your screens recording of our next release ' Fuse' from the session. I have had a stab at Editting it and 'I think I done wew' as Londoners would say.

The following week we went to Doncaster to play a special gig and then join a panel on how to make a living from music. If anyone knows, ca n they tell me! It was great affair, Roo, from Jenral music, did a great Job as chair and I think everyone learned alot, including us. It's a Topsy turvy odd little music world at the mo- All the better for the likes of us. Then Easter was a weekend away of decadence and debauchery for me and Dawn which I wont go into now followed by the same old grindstone.

Oh yes, and The Catch in Chiswick dpes possibly the FINEST Fish and Chips in the country (Cheques in the post is it lads? How about free food then? No?)
